Event Details
The Smokin’ Blues & BBQ Festival is a community event for all ages. Hosted by the Duncanville Lions Club and the City of Duncanville, the Festival takes place on October 19 and 20 in beautiful Armstrong Park.
Mouthwatering BBQ, delicious food vendors and some amazing blues bands are just a few of the things you can expect for this weekend event. Shop the arts and crafts vendors and let the kids participate in their very own Kids Cook-Off! Don't miss it!
Gates open at 5:00pm Friday and 10:00am Saturday.
KCBS Sanctioned BBQ Cook-Off
The KCBS Sanctioned BBQ cook-off is a competition of 47 teams from across the country. The teams cook their meat on site and are judged Saturday morning before the festivities begin. Want a taste? Join us for the People’s Choice Competition.

People's Choice
Similar to the Chef’s Choice, teams may prepare anything they’d like, BUT the public will do the judging!
After all the competition meats have been entered and judged, the public will enter the cooking grounds and walk from team to team while sampling what each team has chosen to enter into the People’s Choice. Each participant will vote for the one team they feel has the best entry. All votes will be tallied and the winner will receive the prize money and trophies!
A separate ticket must be purchased to participate in the People's Choice.
This is the event’s major fundraiser for the Duncanville Lions Club in support of the Texas Lions Kids Camp in Kerrville.
Kid's Que
Do you know some future grill masters? At the Smokin Blues & BBQ Festival, your kids can take center stage in their very own grilling competition!
In the words of Guy Fieri, “Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.”
It’s easy for your child to participate in the cook-off. Everything will be provided for them – small grill, charcoal, utensils, meat and seasonings.
They will be judged against others in their age bracket. The judges will taste the finished product and award trophies to the winners. Register your child here.
