The General's Guard 24-hour Virtual Relay Rally for Heroes for Children

For its 8th consecutive year, The General’s Guard is hosting its annual 24-hour bicycle relay to raise awareness and funds for Heroes for Children – a Texas nonprofit that provides social and financial assistance to families with a child aged 0 to 22 battling pediatric cancer. While the relay is often hosted as an in-person event, due to social distancing guidelines and precautions set by the CDC and local health officials, the relay will be hosted as an online virtual event. Starting Friday, May 22 at 5 p.m. and ending on Saturday, May 23 at 5 p.m., riders can virtually join community members from across the world in support of the nonprofit organization. With a $30k goal in mind, the bicycle relay rally gives riders an opportunity to support Heroes for Children from the comfort of their home. Donors who pledge a gift of at least $25 will be given an access link to the virtual relay so they can join other cyclists and cheer for participants. Using their trainers, bikers will ride continuously for 24-hours in 1-hour shifts via Zoom.
