About Downtown Dallas

Downtown Dallas is the main business district and is located right in the middle of the city. Though Downtown is more than often known as the location of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, there is a lot more culture character found around the street corners. This district of the city is relatively contemporary with transit rails running throughout to help support both the business commuters and visitors. Recently redone, Main Street Downtown has a strip of exciting restaurants, bars, and featured entertainment. Plans for a large beautified park along the river are in the works, with hopes to bring in more people during the weekdays as well as permanent residents. Downtown Dallas also has one of the largest arts districts in the country. The Majestic Theater is one of the most popular performance houses, however, an extensive opera house and other major galleries and museums are planned to be part of the ten year construction project for Downtown. One of the most beautiful sites in Downtown is actually the skyline. Most often against a bright blue sky surrounded by fields of bright green green, its easy to be taken aback by the magnificent site.
