The Dallas Arts District offers an immense amount of culture, nightlife, dining, creativity and livelihood. Located in the northwest area of downtown Dallas, the Arts District has many facilities that promote and educate performing, developing and visual arts. The Arts District nightlife is kept very busy by the wide variety of lounges and bars that offer performances almost all nights of the week. Since many of the residents here are involved and passionate about their work, many times your cover charge to a bar or theater will actually be going toward organizations that sponsor medical ailments or environmental preservation. Presentations and shows both inside and out can sometimes be unannounced, making the district always bounce with life. Some prestigious schools and organizations here include the Meyerson Symphony Center, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The district is also artistically pleasing to just walk around. Galleries, live exhibits, and museums are great to visit during the day and since they are always changing, you can even go back twice!
